Owing to the motor vehicle strike on 6th Jan, all the events of Gyaana 2018 will be conducted on Jan 5th itself ( Tech Quiz, Project Display, Technical competitions)
Sarabhai Institute of Science & Technology proudly announces its annual technical event,”GYAA JunNA 2017″ – the hunt for the most talented students of Higher Secondary Schools of Kerala, scheduled to be conducted on the 5th & 6th of January 2018. Various programmes are organised to bring out the talents of the students, and they also get a chance to exhibit their project displays having innovative ideas . The events are broadly categorized into :
1) Best Innovative Project Idea Contest
2) Tech Quiz
3) Workshops
4) Technical Competitions.
5) Mind Games

The schedule is:
05/01/2018
9.30 am – 11.30 pm : Inaugural session, followed by Expert talk on the topic “Secret to Success” by
Sri.Brahmanayakam Mahadevan, Chairman, Athma Ability Foundation.
11.30 am – 1.00 pm : Project display
Technical Quiz: Round 1 – Prelims.
Round 2 – Finals
Evaluation of Project Display.
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm : Mind Games / Technical Competitions.
2.00 pm – 3.30 pm : Valedictory Function & Prize Distributions.

1) Best Innovative Project Idea Contest.
The students get a chance to showcase their innovative ideas for socially relevant projects in the areas of Science, Technology & Engineering by submitting an abstract of their idea in the format given below.The selected students with the Best Idea will be intimated before 5th January 2018. Your ideas will be evaluated by eminent personalities in the field of Science, Technology & Engineering.

2) Technical Quiz
The Quiz competition shall be conducted in two rounds: Preliminary Round & Final Round. The top 5 Teams will be selected from the preliminary round to compete in the Final round. All the participants in both the rounds will be awarded certificates. The First ,Second & Third prize winning teams will be awarded Cash prize and Certificates.
Rules and Guidelines
i. Students should participate as a team after registering online.
ii. A team shall consist of two members only.
iii. Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after registration.
iv. Questions will be based on General Science Awareness, Recent trends in Technology, Scientific Inventions and Discoveries.
v. It is mandatory for all students to bring their regular valid identity card.
vi. The use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets is not allowed during the Quiz.

3) Workshops
Students may participate in any of the 6 workshops offered in the various branches of Engineering, where they get hands on experience and technical know-how of the most relevant areas of Engineering. They will be awarded valid certificates upon successful completion of 3 hrs’ workshop. The various workshops offered are :
- AutoCAD/ Brick Masonry/ Total station
- House Wiring System
- Sensor-based Robotics
- Internet of Things
- Awareness on Conventional Machining Process
- Website designing & Hosting
Please note that you can opt for only one among the 6 offered workshops.
Technical Competitions / Mind Games
No registration is required to participate in these events .
